:::: WEL COME TO SHRI.S.H.NAIK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, NAVAPUR

To establish the teacher training institute in Tribal and Rural area like Navapur was very difficult. But because of the sincere efforts and special mission of the stalwart personalities like Hon.Shri.Surupsingji Naik, Hon.Shri.Manikraoji Gavit and Hon.Shri.Vipinbhai Chokhawala it came on the horizon. To establish any institution the prior need is of land. To meet this need our sanstha appealed the merchant community in Navapur. To honour this appeal, generous hearted person late Shri.Dwarkaprasad H. Agrawal came forward and whole heartedly donated the 17 acres of land, worth few crores rupees now a days.

To uplift it is more important to provide teachers and leaders from the same society. The sanstha realized this need for starting professional courses in Navapur. The sanstha started College of Education in 1990. The college was named as ‘Shri.S.H.Naik College of Education’. In our institute 50 seats are permitted forever for the tribal students and 150 seats for general. Total seats are 200. We are working with the mission of producing competent, committed and professional scholars who can initiate the emerging society.

College of Education, Navapur is known as an institution providing best quality in education to the Tribal (Adivasi) students of Nandurbar district and general students from the rest of Maharashtra. The college is famous for its well equipped infrastructure and quality in education. Considering the fact that there are many students coming to Navapur for B.Ed course. This is achieved because of the inspiration of Hon’ble Chairmanan and the members of sanstha. The heritage of hard work made it possible to achieve the target of the upliftment and development of Adivasi Community and the whole society as well.

The goals and objectives of our college are to provide professional education to the tribal and rural students. So the tuition fees and other fees are collected in installments from the poor students.
Remedial teaching classes are conducted for slow learners and the toppers are inspired for self-learning and creative work. It reflects in our results. Usually the result is 90% and above.
Educationally backward students are being paid special attention to bring them in mainstream of education. Personal attention and guidance is provided to these students.
We carryout all the academic activities listed in the syllabus very sincerely, carefully and whole-heartedly with a positive attitude. For this reason competency, self-discipline, efficiency, loyalty, commitment to profession is highly implanted in our students.
We inculcate different values and responsibilities among students through value based education, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. In order to strengthen the peace of mind ‘Silent Session’ is the salient feature of ours.
The present infrastructure is sufficient and healthy to fulfill the needs. It’s healthy atmosphere inspires the students for learning. Ours is the only unaided college in North Maharashtra University which provides the computer and internet facility to students.
The special Technology lab having OHP, Handicam, slide projector, T.V. and Audio-Video cassettes is the special feature of our college. Ours is an affiliated college to NMU, Jalgaon. Hence all rules/regulations regarding procedure of admission, examination rules, rules for recruitment of staff, are governed by the university, the state of Maharashtra and U.G.C.
Decentralization of authority and transparency in work is another conspicuous feature of ours.
The present infrastructure of our college is ample to meet the present needs. We have separate rooms for Language laboratory,Science lab, Psychology lab, Educational Technology lab and Geography Lab.
